How trust scores are calculated and used in the Thamizhi community.
The reputation system measures your trustworthiness in the Thamizhi community. Higher reputation gives you more influence and privileges.
How Reputation Works
Section titled “How Reputation Works”Reputation is a score from 0-100 that reflects your community standing. It’s calculated based on your actions and how others respond to them.
Earning Reputation
Section titled “Earning Reputation”Positive actions that increase reputation:
- Accurate submissions: +5 to +15 points per verified story
- Helpful reviews: +2 to +5 points per quality review
- Community engagement: +1 to +3 points per meaningful comment
- Mentoring: +3 to +7 points for helping new members
- Reporting: +2 to +4 points for accurate issue reports
Factors affecting reputation gains:
- Consistency: Regular positive contributions build faster
- Quality: High-impact stories earn more
- Community response: Upvotes and positive feedback help
- Time: Reputation builds gradually
Losing Reputation
Section titled “Losing Reputation”Actions that decrease reputation:
- Rejected submissions: -3 to -10 points per rejection
- Poor reviews: -2 to -5 points for inaccurate reviews
- Community violations: -5 to -20 points per violation
- Inactivity: Slow decrease over time without participation
- Disputes: -2 to -8 points for unresolved disputes

Reputation Calculation

Base Score = (Accurate Submissions × 5) + (Helpful Reviews × 3) + (Community Engagement × 1)Penalty Score = (Rejections × 5) + (Violations × 10) + (Disputes × 3)Final Score = Base Score - Penalty ScoreModifiers:
- Consistency bonus: +10% for daily participation
- Quality bonus: +15% for high-impact stories
- Time decay: -5% per month of inactivity
- Community trust: ±10% based on community feedback
Building Reputation

Q: What happens if my reputation drops too low? A: Low reputation may limit certain privileges, but you can always rebuild through positive engagement.
